Meet the Staff

Emma Josselyn, Dr. Hauschka Certified Esthetician
Emma started her career in the beauty industry in 2001, working behind the front desk of a local spa. In 2005, she decided to go to school to become an esthetician. She chose to attend the Elizabeth Grady School of Esthetics, which is a state of the art school outside of Boston. She excelled in her education there and couldn’t wait to begin her career in skin care & make-up artistry. She worked for two years in a local spa where she became well known for giving a great facial, doing skilled eye brow shaping, and beautiful make-up applications. In 2008, she opened her own business and ran a small skin care studio in Osterville. Starting a business was an amazing experience for her, but as a mother of three small children, it became too much to juggle. In the summer of 2011, she decided to close the studio and join the staff at Painted Red Nails. She has been so happy with this decision and is enjoying being part of a wonderful team.
“I love what I do for a living…what makes me the happiest is connecting one on one with clients and helping them see positive transformations in their skin. My passion continues to grow everyday and I believe it shows in the work I do.”

Echo, Esthetician, Massage Therapist
Echo Mellyn graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and followed with a certification in therapeutic massage therapy and professional skin care at the Florida College of Natural Health. She has been a licensed massage therapist and esthetician since 2003. Echo is extremely passionate about her work and hopes to further advance in the skin care industry as part of her future.

Nicole, CMP, Manicurist, and Dr. Hauschka Certified Esthetician
Nicole’s first love was always art, and she graduated in 2009 from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with a degree in Art Education. Her love of learning brought her back to the classroom at the Spa Tech Institute in Plymouth to become and Esthetician. Her passion for skincare, makeup, and care-giving in general grew as soon as she started classes. Once she graduated and received her license in esthetics, she knew there was more to learn in the business. After enrolling in the manicuring class at Upper Cape Tech, she quickly grew to love manicuring! “I think if I had had any other teacher besides Jess, I would not have been so successful with manicuring. Her passion is contagious! She brings out the inner perfectionist in me!”
She now feels so at home at Painted Red Nails, and is thankful that the staff has shown her even more ways to learn. In March of 2012 she became a Certified Master Pedicurist, and can’t wait to further her education in the field of podology.
“I am a life long learner, and nothing makes me happier than to educate myself so I can educate my clients. I am now training in the art of acrylics, and could not be happier to learn something new. People ask me all the time why I am not looking for a job as a teacher in a school, and I say because I get to be a teacher to every client I meet!”

Elisa, Dr. Hauschka Certified Esthetician, CMP, and Manicurist

Annmarie, Massage Therapist
You’d never guess that Annmarie had never had a massage before walking into her first massage class. Becoming a massage therapist wasn’t even her idea. She went to massage school just to pacify her father who had been urging her to. Yet once she got on the table for the first time, she was hooked!
What Annmarie loves most about massage is “helping people feel more comfortable in their bodies or helping them feel better from an injury. Every body deserves a great massage,” she says. Annmarie has been a nationally certified massage therapist for eight years. She’s a graduate of the Massage Institute of Cape Cod and has also studied Thai massage and reflexology.

Ashley Freeman, CMP, Esthetician, Manicurist
(Dr. Hauschka Certified)Some of you may remember one of our Certified Master Pedicurists, Ashley Freeman from a couple years back. We’re exciting to have her joining our team again, now full-time in Mashpee. Before becoming a manicurist and training at Painted Red in advanced foot care in 2007, Ashley’s first love was skin care. She has worked in different salons and spas across the Cape since becoming licensed in 2005.
Ashley is returning from an extended maternity leave and is so excited to be coming back to her passion, and will be offering hand and foot care, skin care and waxing services at Painted Red Nails. Ashley just completed training with Dr. Hauschka Skin Care to offer their classic treatments as well.

Autumn May, Dr. Hauschka Certified Esthetician
Autumn became enthralled with skin care after routine facials balanced and soothed her once acneic skin. She began her training at the Champion Institute of Cosmetology in Palm Springs, CA and received a Masters in Esthetics degree from the New England Center for Esthetics Education in Northampton, MA in 2007.
After working with many skin care lines, she was introduced to the natural, holistic routine of Dr. Hauschka Skin Care. Autumn attended the Dr. Hauschka Esthetician Training and became a Certified Dr. Hauschka Esthetician in 2008.

Judy, Manicurist, CMP

Brenda Kubick, Dr. Hauschka Certified Esthetician, Massage Therapist, Manicurist, CMP
Brenda knew she wanted to be an esthetician since the first time she observed a facial (tagging along on her sister’s facial appointment years ago) Inspired by that treatment and “amazed at how beautiful her skin looked,” she had discovered her passion. “That’s when I knew… I knew I wanted to achieve those results for people,” she says.
After completing her aesthetics training at Golden West College, Huntington Bch., CA, Brenda worked for 4 years at a spa on Nantucket where she discovered another love: massage therapy. She went on to pursue her massage license at Palmer Institute of Massage Therapy and Body Work in Salem, MA in 2003. Now, with over 15 years experience as an esthetician, and 8 years as a massage therapist, Brenda still loves pampering her clients and enjoys striving to give each client the best service possible.
“My clients ask me which I love the most… although I love it all, waxing is probably my favorite. ” says Brenda, but she loves that massage and skin care compliment each other so well to give clients great benefits and really enjoys her work.

Jessica Mahler, CMP, Owner
Manicurist, Esthetician (Dr. Hauschka Certified)Jessica received her manicuring license in 2002, and has been a fully licensed cosmetologist since 2003 (hair, skin and nails), but her truest love has always been for nails, and her experience in the industry dates back much farther than her professional license. Besides the little manicuring shop she’d practically set up in her family’s home at age 10, she began formal nail care training at the age of 13, training to compete in advanced nail care competitions, and won a national championship by age 16. (SkillsUSA-VICA 2002)
Her passion for teaching nail care began early in her career when she starting coaching other nail care students for competitions her senior year of high school, and became a licensed instructor of cosmetology the following year. Through her passion for nail care, and desire to expand her unique hand and foot care concepts, Painted Red Nails was born in Osterville in 2005, and expanded to Mashpee in 2011.
Jessica has studied under German podiatrist Katherine Vongavel and is a Certified Master Pedicurist through the North American School of Pedicuring, and a Dr. Hauschka Certified Esthetician. Jessica feels truly blessed to practice what she loves every day and to share even further in that joy through teaching others. All of Painted Red Nail’s staff is carefully trained in Jessica’s signature services and advanced skin care techniques for the hand and foot, which are continually evolving. “I literally lie awake in bed at night dreaming up my next theme service, or solving a skin care problem for a client . I know I am nuts, but I really love my job,” says Jessica.
